Lookout, thank you for stating this. I'm having a similar experience which concerned me since I have not read this before. It makes me feel a bit better. |
I never had high settings to start with....my blood vessels were just that inflamed...I still remember the 1st test spot....the tech said I will do it on the lowest joules setting....one zap....purple bruise instantly. I had to go home with that in the center of my cheek and went to another place to see what they offered....same exact thing....he joked and said I'll do one on the other cheek to compare and sure enough I ended up with matching purple bruises! I had to emotional get ahold of myself...basically tell myself that to get well I must do this even if my entire face is black and blue.....it's really hard....I poured out my guts on the RSG way back then as I was going thru these.....my 3 sons cried when I came home after the 1st treatment. The down time for me was super long....one month for the bruises to fade to brown/yellow still rather dark....I had folks at church asking me if I had been in a car accident....women wanted to know if my husband had beat me....and this was 3 weeks or more after.....GOD how I hate rosacea......
I am not looking forward to doing that type of treatment with the VBeam...but I will....I simply have to. _________________ Dx 1998

I've had bruises from Restylane injections under the eyes - it happens when they disrupt a blood vessel. My injector treated them with ULTRA-LOW setting of Vbeam and they are gone in the next 2 days. Bruises from VBeam are caused by the same rupture of blood vessels and theoretically should respond the same to the low settings. Paradoxically, the same laser that caused them can help them heal faster. I don't know how exactly the low settings work - they help the blood coagulate probably and the body clears it up faster. The low settings are so low that my skin didn't feel 'treated' at all, no swelling burning or anything, so they must be really low.
Otherwise, bruises including those form purpurick Vbeam really last about 2 weeks to fade and they really get lots of attention in public. Very hard to coverup with makeup due to the deep dark color. I've used Colortration concealer to cover up bruises from Restylane - it's like a water soluble paint in your skin color - looks ok from far but a trained eye will detect a makeup from close up view. |

By nature, I am extremely nervous, anxious person. One of my new year resolutions was to overcome this issue. Well I didnt have to do anything, it just disappeared. I dont really wanna defend drugs but I cant think of anything else that could have helped me. I changed dramatically. I dont even blush anymore. |
Francois
I can recogonise this feeling. Drugs can give you that extra confidence and allow you to perhaps be more daring than you would be normally. Afterwards I also got a devil may care attitude-i would guess as a result of the side effects of the drug itself.
Hopefully this new found confidence will continue, afterall you have a Masters degree, a new job in a great country and, if I remember correctly, are a good looking bloke |
Francois, what drug are you using? Extasy? I'm not going to tell, I could give a rats behind, just want to know what is helping you.
Also, I'm set to get Vbeam with Levulan on Feb 28. I'll update how that does.
Thanks much

Paul,
I did use MDMA (Ecstasy), first being on New Years Eve.
It constricts blood vessels, increases body temperature, increases heart pressure and very likely to cause flush for some people. Luckily it didnt for me.
Strangely, it helped me with psychologically. It affects your neurotransmitter levels(serotonin,...) significantly. However the following day is always a nightmare. You feel anxious and depressed.
I'm sorry but I cant recommend a drug. _________________ Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up again.. |

Thanks, I was just hopeful it was something else. I wouldn't use it, I've read about the side effects, what a nightmare.
Best

Hoping that it was something else? Would you use it if I said it was heroine? _________________ Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up again.. |

I would suppose that francois is allowed to take his own thread in a direction he choses. And I'm thinking he was responding to a post -- in light hearted way. _________________ Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you'll be criticized anyway. It's been 13 days since my second VBeam. My face is back to normal since the 10th day. Waiting for some improvement in the following weeks... _________________ Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up again.. |

I have my fingers crossed for even more improvement for you, francois!
One question: have you ever talked with Dr. Chan about getting copies of your before and after photos? I can ask her next week, but I am curious now. |

Thank you very much.
I did not ask. But maybe I should.too next time so that I can post them online.
I hope you have success with VBeam. The redness and swelling usually persists longer than the pratitioner claims it would.
