I would like to see if anyone has had this type of issue. I have had this Redness and flushing on my forehead for about 12 months and it is getting pretty bad. Been to the Derm 2 or 3 times for it and they have given me different topical creams etc. and nothing has worked. I have been on Metrogel 1% for about 5 days and it has really made it bad.. More red, hardening of the skin, etc.. I have absolutley no other spots on my face , just my forehead. I need help. Thanks Sad I heard that this medicine takes time .. What do you think I should do

soprano,

Any flakiness? I had a tough time with forehead redness/rough skin and was eventually diagnosed with Rosacea w/
Seb Derm overlap, use of just metronizadole also turned me quite red and the skin actually got a rash like appearance.

Also curious whether any Derm has suggested patch testing or allergies. Should be something to look into. A least one friend of mine found out through patch testing that they were reacting to something in their moisturizer that was "hypoallergenic".

Yes I agree it could be seb derm. I never found metronizadole particularly brilliant for it.

I wouldn't recommend the long term use of hydrocortisone as this can thin the skin.

What moisturiser are you using?

Hopefully the shampoo or moisturizer isn't giving you a problem. Have you tried Zinc creme (like Balmex)? Give it a try.

When I started using the metrogel it started flaking bad, and it hurt like hell. I stopped yesterday and went back to hydrocortizone.. This really sucks

Hi, I have the same forehead redness. Just ordered some Balmex from the USA (I'm in Australia), was $11.00 for the product & $20.00 Delivery! I bought some zinc creme today from the supermarket which has 150mg/g of Zinc Oxide in it but I assume tthe Balmex would be beter, as thhe zinc creme is to stop sunburns.
