http://melanotan.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl Read the forums there and then post if you still have questions.

I haven't tried either, but from what I gather from other's experiences is that M II works faster, but has more side effects, such as POSSIBLE eye and heart problems and hyperpigmentation.

M I will still get you a very nice tan, probably as good as M II, but will take longer. However, I haven't read about anyone having eye or heart issues and the hyperpigmentation seems to be a little less.

Pricing I am not sure about, but expect to spend a couple hundred.

You can get in the U.S. and there are plenty of posts on that forum about it.

I am going to be going on M I in a few months to get ready for the summer. I think M I is pretty safe, it is in the late stages of FDA approval, and really think it will help my rosacea.

Good luck.

M2 worked great for me, didn't help the rosacea any (except slightly hide it). What's really interesting is that just looking in the mirror it was obvious I had rosacea still, like my face was resistant to tanning, but with flash photography I only looked tan in the pictures. No trace of red. This completely eliminated my usual camera shyness.

I stopped using it because of the potential side effects, but I'll be ordering a bunch of M1 in preparation for a Cancun trip in May (figuring it could take 4 months to get enough in me).

I'm guesstimating it will take $400 to get tan using M1 (120mg), not including maintenance after that. M2 took about $200 (40mg). The weird thing is, I stopped using M2 three months ago, and the tan has only faded maybe 50%. No sun exposure at all in that time.

That is interesting. Most people, almost all in fact, that I have talked to that used M I or M II for help with tanning and rosacea had great results. Most were able to tan real nice on their face now and cover a good deal of redness. The anti-inflammatory effects are supposed to be great too.

How bad is your redness?

I'm sure it would have helped me more if I had kept using it and tanned a little more, but I didn't want to get to the point where I was so dark that it was all the people around me talked about (I'm Norwegian/Irish/Welsh with auburn hair). My wife and friends all knew I was doing it, but my wife's family did not, and I didn't want to have to explain it to them. People who can tan naturally don't understand why we would go through this. Also I have a short goatee which went from light auburn to completely black and my hair was much darker. I'm surprised no one noticed.

My redness isn't too bad, noticeable but nothing like it was a few years ago. Flushing is almost non-existent, as long as I stick to my regimen. But the areas where I flush did not tan as well as the rest of me - even parts that are permanently red from sun damage, like the back of my neck, tanned better than my cheeks.

I plan to go farther this time, so I'm sure I'll post my results.

I'd just like to note that it takes me ~5mg to get the tan I want. Anymore and it doesn't look as natural.
