hi, im new the all this forum stuff, but i just want to say...wow, i always thought i was like the only one in the world with rosacea.....but i am just so sick of it i almost feel like committing suicide its ridiculous, i cant do anything because i get red!!! i have done v-beam treatments, have had like hmm more or less around 8...ppl have said that they notice i am a bit less red, more like pinkish now..so i guess thats a plus, but what i hate most is when i turn RED, like a cherry, im having fun with friends joking around, talkin to women, but then for some reason i get red, i feel it heating up...sometimes tho i dont feel it heating up and ppl say im red, but what is worse is when i hear those words.."haha, he's turning red".....then i just get mixed feelings. But other than the v-beam i use aloe-vera gel and on top of that i use blemish balm, like some cream that looks like make-up, but i just wish i could just have normal looking skin like anyone else grrr....anyways i just wanted to let my feelings out.
btw, im an 18 year old male, have had rosacea since maybe 12-13....but i really started bothering me around high school...it just got embarrassing..to present...yea |

Welcome to the forum. I can relate to a good deal of that, being a guy myself.
Just hang tough, browse and post on the forum and you will find something that works for you eventually. _________________ Redness on cheeks and nose. Flush and blush very easily. No p&p's.
What to do...? Any ideas let me know. |

I am in a similar situation. I am 18 also and in college. High school was hell. People always would say "awwwww, hes getting red" or if it was a guy "hey man your really red." And there was no escape. In college there can be an escape (I just said I was going to do homework and left my friends room … I have a bad flush) sometimes but it does nothing to tone down the problem.
I noticed when the doctor (there were two) told me that I had rosacea it made everything worse. If only I could forget that it existed, I would be so much better off, even if I did get a little red. In my current state I have a hard time telling a story in front of just 2 people that I don’t know very well. Life isn’t going to get any easier so the best thing to do is to think as positively as possible, eliminate negative thoughts, and try to forget (although it is hard when its burning on your face).
Also to vent a little ... it seems as though my face has gotten slowly worse over the 20 months I have been diagnosed. I just wish it would go away ... I would have so much more confidence in life. |

yea i get very depressed, lack confidence, but sometimes i overcome that by goofing off and just tryin to be funny, it just makes me sad when ppl point it out and its like omg...
looking at some pictures from since yea i first got it i noticed maybe there has been a slight improvement, and im tryin to treat it with lasers, some creams, etc., but what worries me is, will the condition get worse? when i get older have worse rosacea than i do now? sigh, |

I felt exactly the same. I spent 4 years depressed, lonely and desperate. Feels like so long ago but was only 2-3 years ago.
Do a lot of reading. There are treatments for rosacea. I am much better now I used to be and learned to live with that redness.
You should consider concealing it. It helps A LOT!
This group is invaluable in terms to getting to learn treatments and getting help from the members.
Wish you good luck

Wow... I can really relate to you. (Same with you dwit, I didn't realize you were 1 .
Theres nothing I hate more than someone mentioning it. Teachers mention it in front of the class, people mention it out of curiosity and some people mention it just be be assholes.
Ive also had it since I was around 13. Im wondering, what type do you have exactly? I'd be interested in seing a pic. For me, I have redness on the nose and cheeks, and it also has gotten worse for me the last few years. Its really depressing and also VERY frustrating. Its taken away all my self confidence and really depressed me.
My dad has terrible rosacea (I wonder where mine comes from?), so I am pretty sure that my rosacea will continue to get worse.
Nothing I have tried really has helped much except: A dairy/sugar free diet (I took a allergy testing), Sunblock (just zinc oxide sunblock helps reduce the inflamation - I just put some on every morning).. and thats about it..
Anyways, again I'd like to see some pics to see exactly what type you have. So your in college now?
Heres a pic of what kind of flush I get btw: http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/4056/aaaaaadu2.jpg |

| ewist, I know you've probably been told this 1000 times; and I know that it doesn't make any difference to me when people say that kind of thing, but: in that picture, you don't look so bad at all. |

It shouldn't bother me what other people say or think.. But sadly.. It kind of does.
My rosacea changes alot. Some days it will be visible but not so bad, but other days it can get really terrible |
