| just wondering what everyone used? Most have pretty harsh ingredients and drying sodium lauryl sulphate. Having seb derm and rosacea, I wonder if I should be using something more gentle on my scalp rather than the common shampoo's? |

flemmo,
The best one I have tried is a prescription one called
Stieprox (in Canada). The active ingredient is ciclopirox olamine. Its available in Europe as Stieprox and in the U.S. as Loprox. It has SLS in it but not significant amounts. It also doesn't smell like @#$!..... It is also very effective at keeping flares down.
To give you an idea of how sensitive my skin is Head and Shoulders new formula for sensitive scalps burned mine like a raging fire would.

| Well according to the other thread head and shoulders shampoo contains a good active ingredient, whether or not it is gentle enough is another matter. |

Philka,
Yeah H&S contains pyrithione zinc which is thought to fight dandruff by normalizing skin turnover rates as opposed to attacking the fungus thought to cause seb derm (which is what cyclopirox olamine does). Many people have good success with good old H&S, I do have extremely sensitive skin and always have, even before my Rosacea flared.
Here is a link to a good article explaining the difference among the available shampoo options.

| I have been using an organic tea tree oil shampoo and it has really helped my itchy scalp. |

Do it also improved your rosacea? |

I haven't used it on my face, but I'm thinking about trying a tiny bit with water and see what it does. I'll let you know how it goes! |
