what minerals or vitamins are good for the nourishment for a rosacea skin. I tried omega 3 capsules, but everytime I take 2 a day, it appears to break me up in papules. Any suggestions would be helpful?

I just started taking Flaxseed Oil and Vitamin B-12. I will let you know how things go. If there is anyone that has taken both and seen an improvement let me know too!

I take the following:

flax, fish & Borage oils
green tea extract
evening of primrose oil
Vitamin E
grape seed extract
cranberry juice concentrate
black cohosh
acidophilus & probiotic complex
pycnogenol
co enzyme Q10
hair, skin & Nails (has biotin)
st john's wort
ginkgo biloba

I get most of mine at trader joes. I was reading through Dr. Perricone Prescription and have these on my to buy list:

L- carniotine
selenium
glutamine
milk thistle
turmeric/curcumin

I was taking flaxseed oil and read about borge oil and found one capsule that has three items so went with that. I also added the cranberry and the pycnogenol this past week after reading the week prior.

I am 47 and suffer with eczema too so taking things to help with menopause and alzheimers runs in the family, so one of the new ones has to do with that.

I am also taking hydroxycut to control appetite three times a day - two pills each time an hour before meals. I have lost 6 pounds in two weeks and was on prednisone in Nov and Dec

This stuff works on controling snacking very much as I just finished almost two weeks of period and had nothing for two months and thought it was almost gone for menopause but think it had to do with prednisone and then it all showed up at one time.

These pills helped me not each much of anything. Only a few snacks like the slim a bear 100 calorie ice cream bars and the 100 calorie popcorn and the 100 calorie cookies.

My notebook for the past two weeks shows not much in the way of snacking. I eat usually lean cuisine meals and did try some sugar free cookies to see if that would help my skin, but they were too expensive to keep buying.

Bonnie, why in the world would cookies help clear your skin? Smile Honestly, have you ever thought about eating fresh fruits and vegetables, or maybe even fresh fish, chicken, or lean cuts of beef instead?

Fish oil (omega 3's) are a great place to start. Though take lots, like 25g plus per day. This will help increase your insulin sensitivity too which is also beneficial.

If you're looking specifically into supplements, take a look at a product called Superfood. It's produced by a company called Biotest and is chalked full of anti-oxidants and other good stuff. Just 5 grams (one serving) is equivalent to 12 serving of vegetables.

Also drink copious amounts of green tea everyday. Make sure the tea comes in the form of real tea leaves though. None of this instant Earl Gray crap.

It's different for everyone. If omega 3 breaks you out, don't take it, no matter how many doctors tell you it's good for you (it makes me extremely flushy).

Over time, you'll build up a list. It takes a lot of trial and error. You may discover that you can't even take a multi or vitamin C every day.
