have a built in cooling device....I think VBeam does and I know IPL does not. Do all other lasers except IPL have a cooling device built in that shoots out right after a zap?
I have only had IPL so I am curious on the differences. _________________ Dx 1998

| I would swear that the luminious 1 IPL does have a cooling head. |

No it doesn't....I had one of those done in Nov 07....infact I believe all IPL's they apply that gel for cooling instead. _________________ Dx 1998

Yes it does have a built in head, if you touch the head with your finger it will feel icey.
That was one of the plus points of Lumenis 1, the gel is applied whatever system is used! |

yes the lumenis 1 does have a cooling head, where as the older IPl machines (vasculight) does not. I have used both, and to tell you the truth there wasnt that much difference..they both hurt |

No they don't apply gel with VBeam....and when I had that IPL before she never mention the cooling device and I sure couldn't feel it. _________________ Dx 1998

This question is for someone who has had both VBeam and IPL without any numbing gel. Which hurt more?? Of course, it may be difficult to say but if you do have an opinion on this I would be interested to know.
Thanks,
Melissa |

| I have never used any numbing cream and I would say that IPL is far more painful than any of the lasers. |

Thanks Sarah.
I think VBeam hurts like crazy so I can't even imagine IPL. Ouch! |

Thats nice to know! Once I am done with the IPL treatments I am doing most likely VBeam..... so it's less painful....that's something I can look forward to then
Hey Melissa, I was able to track down my friend from the old support group....she hasn't been there in 8yrs but found her over at QVC boards awhile back...we were both talking about jewelry....small world! Anyway, she is calling Dr. Levy today to get back to me on the exact laser she has done. She had a similiar case to Dr.Nase (entire face and eyes, neck also)....she did say that Dr.Levy's old laser from 8yrs ago didn't have that cooling device thing and hurt like he$$ but in these last several years hes gotten a much newer version and it does....she just can't remember the name! I should know what she got done sometime today! _________________ Dx 1998
