My nose is a real mess at the moments. Its gone from moderate rosacea to, well, looks servere to me but I accept rosacea can be much worse than what I have. Its very red, blotchy/ruddy, oily and has blackeads - Do I paint a pretty picture or what?!
I think the real problem is sebum production (LOTS of it!) and seb derm blocking the pores are causing inflammation.
I think I've red retin-a can make rosacea worse, as can salicylic acid. Does anyone know of anything that might help but wont make the rosacea worse? I'm leaning to something drastic at the minute like low dose accutane to stop the sebum overproduction rather than fighting the result with topicals.
Thanks in advance. |

I used to have blackheads on my nose, and moisturizing with jojoba oil helped a LOT. I did not have as severe a case as you apparently do, though.
I don't use the oil anymore, but I also don't get the blackheads anymore - haven't really thought about them for years until reading your post. |

| I think differin gel is abit better than retin A. I think if you used it on your nose only about twice a week then perhaps the side effects wouldn't be too bad. |

cheers. I'll give it a go. Got an appointment with a new GP in a couple of weeks. She is also a dermatologist, so she is gonna hear "My Story". The other patients will have to wait |

good thinkin.
What I'd really like is a total health check like allergy tests, stomach acid tests, digestion, liver, kidneys, the lot. I bet we'd find out something that at least contributes to rosacea. Enough to bring about an improvement anyway. When I win the lottery, I'll buy some scientists |
