I posted for the first time a couple of days ago and found the info very informative. So wondering if anyone can help with my lated skin problem.

I have Rosacea and seb derm as well (according to the last derm I seen)
The problem apart from the redness is that I have sore skin around my mouth. It always feels really tight (no matter which skin cream I use) and when I open my mouth and stretch my skin is starts to crack and go really red. This sometimes happens even when I open my mouth to talk or laugh. Its not just around my lips, it seems to happen up to my nose and around my chin.

Has anyone any ideas if this is my rosacea or seb derm?
Or anything that can help it?

Im getting married next month and starting to really panic!!

Thanks

Daz

Hi Daz,

It's hard to say what it is and it may even be eczema. The best thing to do is to moisturize the area very well and see what happens. You can try vaseline, aquaphor or even eucerin cream. They are all heavy duty moisturizers. There are so many products that can help but it is a matter of trial and error to find what works best for you. There is also emu oil that many people like, aloe vera, calendula gel, and Rosa Relief Cream.

Hopefully when the area is well moisturized it will heal. Apply often and especially at bedtime and sleeping with a humidifier may help. if it's winter by you the lack of humidity and cold air and dry heat can cause problems like this. I hope this helps and do let us know how you get on. Congrats on your upcoming marriage! Very Happy

Best wishes,
Melissa

Maybe a B vitamin deficiency?

I was just diagnosed with Rosacea, and the skin products I was given to treat it severely dried out my skin in areas. How long have you had the dryness? Could it be caused by a certain cleanser, pill, or topical you're taking? I've taken a break from my drying cleanser and am moisturizing, and yesterday the skin has started to soften and peel, revealing normal skin underneath. I don't know if your dryness is long-term or not, but keep in mind that it may get increasingly dry as the skin lifts away from your face, but moisturizing regularly and allowing it to peel should reveal normal skin again.
