First the good news....I found an awesome place today that does the VBeam about 40mins away. Before I could even ask she told me flat out "you need to be prepared for bruising....it is the only way you will get the veins".....they are not impressed with the IPL and I told them I am dissapointed as I have done 2 recently and am not seeing any improvements.....they will do the entire face and expect 2 sessions...she said most only need 2 the way she does the treatments.....they were very knowledgeable about rosacea (has it herself).....the head doc hear will be there and he is primarily a mose' surgeon (cancer)....there is also another doc a derm there too....they are in a rather expensive area of town....can't afford homes over there....but are top notch in my state....it's like a miracle has happened....I actually found these folks and feel sooo greatful....most places I have checked want to do IPL and acid peels as a package....OMGoodness not a snowball's chance in he$$ would that ever happen (faint) Shocked I will have to wait until March4th....5wks after my IPL just to play it safe. I feel the price is reasonable also.....$325 entire face.

Now the bad news.....I am hurting sooooo bad the last few days from the last IPL (Candella system)....it didn't seem to bad the first 2 days but since then my face feels like I have been drug down a gravel road for miles....hurts from the inside out. For some reason IPL just isn't helping me out....and I must be very honest here I have been to afraid of doing a "real" laser treatment for 10yrs....my fears have held me back.

But you all here have changed my mind and gave me the push I needed to do VBeam....so many have done it hear and that has encouraged me to finally get this show on the road!

So it's good on one hand but not so good right now.....I believe some of the problem with me now is that I can't tolerate even antibiotics.....I was taking clarithromycin and I believe that made it worse! I know others I can't take as I get this same pain/burning/taunt sunburned to a crisp sensations....I know better know....for some odd reason I am one of those that just can't add anything in the mix....so I will have to hope that by doing nothing my VBeams will be successful.

Just needed to share
Very Happy

I am in Michigan.......no I don't believe it is considered a medical treatment for rosacea.....they did ask for my insurance but told me it's $325 so I figure it's not covered....I may call my insurance and ask....perhaps I can bill it myself or something?

Lookout,
Congrats. Sounds like a great score with the new derm's office. I think $325 for the full face is a fair price- especially if you are a new client.
Please keep us posted on the progress.

Yes - please call your insurance - many times it's covered and all you have to do is pay your co-pay or pay full price up front and get reimbursed by your carrier.

Good luck Darlene! It's great that you found a derm that you like and trust and at a reasonable cost and distance! Very Happy

Best wishes,

Just a quick note. If you are concerned with safety, the chance of complications is less with VBeam than IPL. At least this is what I know.

Really? That's wonderful news....I do realize that the technology is sooo much better now than 10yrs ago....that's when people reported problems with higher powered lasers...but this group seems to have no reports like this in the recent yrs....that's why I am feeling very optimistic about the VBeam....Thanks Francois Very Happy
