| Redness on cheeks and forehead. Should I try non-prescription topicals first before I go to see a dermatologist for Rx meds? Thanks, |

Hi fattcatt,
I think it best to get a diagnosis from the derm and take it from there. Do you have any other symptoms besides redness? Any burning. flushing or papules/pustules?
In the meantime treat your skin carefully and use a minimum # of products to keep your face clean and well moisturized. And if you are trying any new products make sure you try it out on a small area first (patch test) just in case you have an adverse reaction to it.
Welcome to the Forum and good luck!
Best wishes,
Melissa
BTW I love your forum name |

I had no luck with non prescription.
I did better with metrogel (helped initially with redness) and now finacea (for spots) _________________ dx early 2006.
current stategy;
finacea twice a day, lightstim nightly, 5 x IPL and 2 x n-light. |
