What a relief that is. The check for my first treatment is in the mail. I think they are paying for my consultation too.
I'm glad they are viewing this as an actual medical condition rather than something cosmetic. _________________ What I'm doing:

That's great Cashislay!
They should of course but we know sometimes what a struggle it can be.
Best wishes,

Was there anything you had to do to get the insurance to cover it? Did you have to submit it or did the clinic? That's very interesting, all clinics that I have called or researched usually don't accept any insurances.
Thanks! |

I was just getting really frustrated and depressed over my skin and thinking about the idiocy of insurance not covering 'cosmetic' treatments, and then I see this.
That's great news man, how'd you manage to illuminate the blatantly obvious truth to them? |

It would help if your doctor would write a letter to the insurance company stating that if they don't treat you with Laser the condition will progress.
That's what my original laser doc did and so far they are still covering part of the treatments (I say so far because you know how the insurance companies will try to get away with anything they can but I am prepared if I need to battle them).
Good luck and let us know what happens.
Best wishes,
Melissa |

All I did was get the diagnostic codes from this forum and had Dr. Lat's secretary type up a form with them on there. I then wrote my own letter describing what rosacea is and that it is a medical condition and not something cosmetic. I explained that even though the cost of IPL may seem high in price it will be cheaper for them in the long run. If they didn't cover it I would have to go see more dermatologists, use more topicals, see a psych etc. However, if they just cover my treatment I can tackle this disease early and avoid further costs.
Just convince them that you are truley suffering from a medical condition and not something cosmetic. Also, if they deny you don't stop fighting. I got lucky, but if you don't just keep fighting them until they cover it.
Good luck. _________________ What I'm doing:
