I've been having a big increase in redness and tenderness in my face the past few days. I'm wondering if it's normal to see an increase in this during a girl's time of month, or if it's due to something else? I'm getting light bruising in my lips now (looks like some broken capillaries... I have a habit of chewing my mouth, and this increase of inflammation seems to make them very sensitive), and my face is so much redder and much more uncomfortable than before. =[ Thanks...

I can't say for 100% certain but I notice that just days prior to my cycle I am more flushy and redder overall. Just more reactive also. Of course P&P's are more common at this time too....from my personal experience I would say yes for me!

I also noticed an increase in pauples, followed by increased redness and flushiness about three or four days before my period, so I guess that's it... It's good news in a way, because that means my topicals probably aren't causing it then. Hopefully next month these meds will be working enough to at least suppress it a bit!

I forgot to add, would taking an Ibuprofen anti-inflammatory help with these hormonal things? Is it safe to take with Oracea? Thanks.

I have really super painful periods so I take aleeve (2 1/2 tabs of the OTC ones) which is 500mg (like prescription strength)....I find that even though I take these and I have used advil for years also it doesn't have any effect on my "flushiness"....I still get all the yuky P&P's....sitting here right now with 3 of them...and the one on my chin hurts!! But my cycle is due in about 3 days so it figures! I don't think I would take advil at the same time you take your antibiotic....to be sure you can call the local pharmacy about it but I am sure it's fine just as long as it a few hours away. HTH

No as I said it has never done a darn thing for rosacea but wonderful on the cramps!
