Hey PA Dancer....how is the "finish" on this sunscreen? Does it go in well or leave a shine to the skin? I will be needing a sunscreen soon....and am always interested in trying something better than what I presently have...Thanks!
Also I just wanted to share my experience with a new product (for me anyway) it's by Philosophy....Microdelivery exfoliating wash.....I tried this out to remove that constant dry skin on my cheeks....it is awesome! You don't need to rub the product harshly to work just very gentle circles for 30-60sec's....and then rinse. My face was finally free of these nasty cells and no reaction. My face remained calm. It is not a cleasner to remove makeup...but just used to remove the dead cells. I have tried over the years soo many things and everything bothered me....so for a long time I wouldn't even bother looking at products like this. I am glad I did...this isn't like AHA products or glycoic products at all. I believe I have found my solution to this problem....once I did this I then put on my moisturizer and it went right in and again no bad reaction...my skin was still flake free in the am.
I am not saying everyone should run right out and get this....but if you stop by one of there counters ask for a small sample to try as it is pricey and as we all know what works for one doesn't work for everyone. Just wanted to share!
heres a link and at the bottom is listed the ingredients

| SmartyPants wrote: | Thanks for the reply, Lookout...I had my adrenals tested 3 years ago and my cortisol rhythm was normal, except it was a little low in the morning when it should be high. My DHEA was rock bottom. That particular doctor put me on cortisol (Isocort) and DHEA, but the DHEA made my face go cystic really fast so I lost most faith in that doctor and his advice. I did the T3-only Wilson's protocol and thought my thyroid problem was cured.
Fast forward 3 years...I took a toxic antibiotic in September that no doubt pretty much sent my thyroid into ruin (fluoride-based drug) and caused a lot of autoimmune symptoms that I have had in the past to come back full-force.P.S. If I had known how toxic this drug was before I took it, I never would have gone near it. My military doctors checked my thyroid and my TSH was 3.87...they wanted to put me back on Synthroid and that has never worked for me in the past so I sought out this naturopathic MD that I am working with now. He started me on 1 MCG T3 (what I now can see is a pretty insignificant amount) as a ten-week trial, along with this Adrenal extract. I actually feel worse than I did before I started. I am due to have labs run by him on Thursday, and I see him another 2 weeks. I am going to make it clear that I want Armour and I want it right now.
I had antibodies tested 5 years ago and I was negative. I have also been tested for Lupus 3 times in the past year and have come back negative. I can assume that I now have thyroid antibodies because I have an enlarged thyroid with thyroiditis diagnosed via ultrasound. It is hard to get the proper testing (antibodies) because I am trying to get my military insurance to cover tests because we are effectually broke, and the military only tests what they deem "necessary".
My main symptoms now are extreme fatigue to the point where I am sleeping 12-15 hrs. a day, I can't exercise, my skin is a horrible mess with rosacea and acne, I feel very dizzy, I'm terribly depressed, and my joints hurt.
I was hoping cortisol might help me...I suppose nothing is a sure fix, though. I will probably ask my naturopathic MD to take more saliva adrenal tests and I will have to cough up the cash...
Thanks for your insight...

Have you ever had candida? Your main symptoms are exactly what I had with extreme fatigue..it was so bad I would come home from work and could not even fix dinner I had to nap! I was dizzy all the time and my joints hurt as well. At about that same time I had severe acne and a lot of other strange symptoms.
I got rid of the candida and I feel awesome now! |

I'm glad I saw this b/c I was going to ask about exfoliating. I have been using Bobbi Brown exfoliating wash one or twice a month for the past 6 years or so. Not now that my face is so crazy! I tried it a week or so ago to see if I could get rid of some of the flaking and I paid dearly for it! So sad. I'll have to see if I can pick up a sample.
Question...one of the ingredients listed was borago something seed oil. Is that the same as borage- the Omega 3? I think I'm sensitive to that, in supplement form at least, but I'm hoping topical will be okay. Hopefully I can get a small sample and try it out.
Also,
I seem to have gotten my flaking somewhat under control the past few days. I've been using Eucerin Original cream alternating with CeraVe cream. I also found a zinc oxide topical at CVS (CVS brand, but it's only 20% zinc). It seems to have helped. I don't have seb derm, so it's working on just my regular white dry flakiness. I can wear my mineral powder makeup with no problem now (or I should say FOR now!). |

Yes I see that ingredient and I know I can't use borage oil as a supplement but for some reason it doesn't bother me at all in this wash...infact it sooths my skin....my skin always feels better once the "dead cells" are removed...removing them has been the problem! I am in love with this stuff....it is so gently and soothing.
Just bring a tiny plastic cream holder (they have those at CVS...sz like eye cream) and they will give you a sample...if you don't bring something to put it in I am not sure how they would. HTH _________________ Dx 1998
