Much of the same info presented.

However, there was a question asked by someone in the audience about rebound effect..... (it's about time)

Man: "I realize that it's an in-class, COL-118, it's kind of difficult to work out the economics of the opportunity. Now, the fact that it's kind of an instant gratification therapy, it's something you put on, the erythema disappears, and it persists over time, and presumably there's also a therapeutic effect over time. Is there any kind of rebound effect, do the receptors get burnt out where people cannot use it for an extended period of time, because you kind of think that given the product profile that they will, and that might have a significant impact on how much you ultimately sell. "

Mr. Stewart: "In studies we've done so far, we have seen no rebound effect. When the drug was used successfully for over 11 years within opthomics, there was no perceived rebound effect. One of the things that excites us about this is that it has a fast onset of action, and that it can be used incomitantly with the patient . Given that and the historical safety record of the drug, we don't anticipate any rebound. If there were, they would show up in the Phase 3 long-term safety studies that we're about to do."

also...

Mr. Stewart: "So I could anticipate a situation where the patient is taking Oracea for the papules and pustules and COL-118 for the erythema."

I will also update it often once the phase 3 rolls around... Smile

But if you use the Sansrosa and keep the reddness at bay, keep the vessels constricted - wouldn't that put an end to the papules, the by-product of the inflamation??????

Excellent news. It must target receptors that don't cause rebound.

I thought about that as well. Then again, there's always a percentage of sufferers with just P&Ps and no flushing or otherwise redness.

I wonder if those are the people (the ones with p&p's but no flushing) that the antibiotics work best for. It's all so confusing. I know I get p&ps right after a bad flush sometimes. And sometimes the p&p's go away within an hour. It's all very mystical. I would think that the Sansrosa product would help clear the p&p's for those whose p&p's are a byproduct of their flushing. Just a guess.

Do you think we will be able to apply this before a flush with no problems? Or only once a flush has ocurred?

I imagine you could do it either way, but I'm not sure.

I had a thought... all of the reports that I have seen so far (some on here and some on the ESFB) where brimonidine causes rebound were all cases where is was purchased online and shipped from some place overseas (oftentimes, these medicines are made in mexico, india, etc. and are of very poor quality) It is hard to go by these reports because the quality of that product is suspect.

But who knows...?
